Last call for an owner for the boards!

For those of you who missed it, the message boards at lotrfanmb / lotrfellowship are now offline as no one has as yet responded to my requesting a new owner for it... it's not too late to bring it back on if anyone would like to take on the annual payment of $107. I can pay it to bring it back up with a reimbursement, then transfer all the info to that person so it would be theirs to manage from that point! (really, it isn't hard to do, the controls are all labeled).

The boards are a very out-of-date version at this point but if you like you can either just let it keep going along (most of it still works fine - just occasional password or posting issues) or you could update it to another version if you are the enterprising sort.

I'm sorry I can't keep supporting it anymore, it's been such a wonderful season in our lives and I've been so blessed to have had the opportunity to know all of you - I'm still hoping someone from our old gang might come along to keep the homestead going with a fire in the fireplace.

Thanks for posting this, I didn't know this was happening. Unfortunately, I can't take this on, either. It really is sad to see it go. Here's hoping someone decides to do it, so we can keep the fire in the fireplace!

This makes me wonder about the future of the LOTRFanclub Scrapbook -- is that in any danger of going away? I check in there fairly often, more so than at the Fanclub itself, so I hope it will be staying around!

Guess I'll have to get moving on copying some of the things I want to keep for future reference! :) Any time frame for how long it will remain up?

Ah, okay, good to know! I do access it directly at bookloaf via direct link. There's a ton of stuff there, some worth looking at again and again, while other stuff is definitely dated! It's a great collection for reminding me of what it was like to interact with everyone during those years.

Are you able to help out financially with the site? I'm thinking of taking on the site for at least a year but was hoping to get more people to share the cost with.

I can help a bit, but my funds are limited, so I can't do as much as I would like to. I can probably do up to $35 --- would that help any?

That'd be great! I think with three of us we could each do $35.

Sounds good. Just let me know how to send the funds.

I have heard from Onomir today, who is also interested in helping; I'll wait to see if he is able to log in and join the discussion here -- if not, I'll represent his interests as we discuss the details.

I can manage £40 which is about 50$. I don.t have Prims email to send it. I use paypal but have forgotten how I did it last time.
